The Elsoc Wiki Is Live

From today's email:

For the last 2 months, the ELSoc committee has been secretly and lazily working on the skeleton of what is to become the ELSOC WIKI!!!!!

It's still only early stages, but we've got a few sample articles and a set of rules up, and we'd love it if everyone could help put it together. The best way to study is to teach others what you have learnt, so why not write an article about what you have learnt on the Wiki!

It can be found at http://elsoc.wikia.com/ so head on over, have a look what's there, and see what you can bring to the table!

Cheers,

Perry

As the webmaster, I promise you that IF EVERYBODY ADDS AT LEAST ONE SENTENCE, YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO STUDY AT ALL!!1!. Ok slightly exaggerated, but if you can get everyone in your course to add or contribute to an article, you'll won't have to make very many study notes at all.

Elsoc Supports Med Revue

On Wednesday of week 9, nearly 20 Elsoc and Friends went to see the opening night of Med Revue. See the blurry phone camera pics of our president in homininian drag, playing the bongos.

Announcing the Audio Electronics Club

From the email sent out today:

Many undergraduates enjoy experimenting with electronics, which may be the reason that they chose to study Electrical Engineering. The establishment of an audio electronics club will allow undergraduates to work together as a team, drawing upon the knowledge learnt in lectures and labs, to create practical circuits. The current idea is for members to decide upon a particular project in (but not necessarily limited to) the audio subject area and to design, build, test and demonstrate the project. This process will inevitably lead to an exchange of knowledge and experience between undergraduates and (hopefully) interested members of the academic staff and hopefully a dickload of fun =)

If you are interested, join us at the first meeting! It will be held on:

Date Monday, 18 May (Week 10)
Time: 4pm
Place: Out front of the EET school office

At this meeting we will get your registration details and decide on our first project!

It's completely free and students from all years are welcome, so come along!

If you are interested but can't make it to the meeting, send an email with your name, student number, and mobile phone number to audioelectronicsclub@elsoc.net

Cheers,

Peter Oliver

Return to Thursdays BBQ!

ELSoc BBQs are returning to a Thursday near YOU!

We had some sausage left over from the last BBQ, so we're going to be giving it away to EE&T students on the Mech Eng Ball Lawn this Thursday (Week 8) from 12:30pm.

We're also going to be selling all our awesome merchandise: bottle openers, special tshirts and beer glasses.

So, skip a class if you have to, and support your student society!
